Lily - 2002 to 2006
Lily and I met in the summer of 2002. Like so many lives she changed, mine was changed also. Lily loved the holidays almost as much as she loved the Cape! To have her whole family together sharing a meal and gifts was nirvana for Lily! Even though her children were grown, Lily would still make giant bunny footprints with talcum powder on Easter! On Christmas, right after dinner, she would race into the bedroom and change into her Santa suit, and make her "grand jolly" entrance!
After years of being fearful of driving, Lily started to drive, very proud, and was on her way to getting her license! Lilys antiques business was flourishing and had so much to look forward to.
Sadly, only in December of 2005, a week before Christmas Lily was diagnosed with two serious illnesses. Christmas was celebrated in February when everyone could be together, and while we all were saddened, Lily was determined not to give in! With Lily's amazing strength of character, one would hardly know anything was wrong!
We will all miss that incredibly warm and giving woman, that radiant smile, and that amazing intellect without a trace of ego or selfishness. This site to "Remember Lily" is in some small way, a reminder of what Lily is, and what we can aspire to be!
